Thus we see the origin of martial art is to cope with these
situations. Since any martial arts is a means of self-defense
against an injustice, the competition of martial arts should

Hapkido has over 10,000 techniques of defense or offense.
However its  fundamental techniques are classified in three
categories as follow:

  1. Empty hands vs Empty hands
  2. Empty hands vs Hands with weapon
  3. Hands with weapon vs Hands with weapon

Each category divided into offensive and defensive, joint
locking and striking, and twisting, throwing,paralyzing, and
strangling techniques. Combining with these basic
techniques, it is being handed down to over 10,000
techniques  for centuries.
Hapkido is powerful because it is altering opponent's
weakest part, such as arteries, veins, nerves,and organs, to
your advantage. Altering opponent's power to enhance your
ability by means of leading his/her attack in a circular
pattern and uniting your powers, can neutralize the
opponent's attack and you gain swift control over him/her.
In Hapkido, using the direction of power is very important.
Perpendicular defence would result in either a break or push.
However, circular defense or from the side would deflect
away the attack thus there is less danger of being either
broken or pushed away.
When  the opponent attacks directly from the front, by
leading the attack in a circle, the opponent's strength will be
diminished and lose its effectiveness. This circular defense
can be used with very little power.
Nunchuck  

exercise which helps to dissolve the fat
and to use oxygen more effectively, also it
is a cardio-respiratory exercise which
helps placing less strain on our hearts
through its simple movement that anyone
can repeat with fun. Because this sport
uses special tool named Nunchuck, it
makes performer to be concentrated on
muscle to be contracted naturally.
Moreover, it has pressure and massage
effect when its tool touches performer’s
body. Plus, it is a muscular strength
exercise that performer’s whole muscle
coordinates with its movements.
Therefore, it is a new diet sport martial
arts as one-stop training.
